Looking for a modern design, outside the ordinary big box retailers? Check out Kanga Room Systems; offering modern design that meets all construction standards to make your next housing project stand-out from the rest in the neighborhood.
A basic exterior package for an 8×8-foot shed starts around $5,900 and you can add on features like a bathroom, kitchenette, and front porch for additional cost. There are three sizes: the shed is the smallest, followed by a mid-sized studio, and a large-ish (minimum 16′ x 18′) cabin.
The standard foundation for a shed is a floor joist panel on top of 4×4 treated lumber skids, although sheds can also be built on top of concrete slab or pier and beam foundations — often required for structures with plumbing. Floors, walls, and roofs arrive as panelized pieces, and Kanga Room estimates that “a skilled construction crew” would take about 3 days or less to assemble a shed or studio kit.
